Riverside Poly Cross Country Teams shine at Cool Breeze Invitational


The annual Cool Breeze Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, August 30th, saw strong performances from the Bears at the Pomona Fairplex. The girls’ team notably placed second in the Large School race, while the boys’ team finished 11th in the Boys Varsity Showdown.
The Bears Boys’ team saw a standout performance from their lead runner, Jace Deledonne, who not only won the Boys Varsity Showdown but also recorded the lowest time of the night across all races. He crossed the finish line with a time of 14:20.8 on the 3-mile course, winning by a significant margin of 5 seconds.
The girls’ team’s second-place finish in the Large School race was a testament to their collective effort and strong performances. The lead runner, Olivia Bollenbach, also had a notable individual performance, securing 11th place in the Girls Varsity Showdown. This showcases the depth and potential of the girls’ program.
Overall, the Cool Breeze Invitational marked a successful start to the cross country season for both teams, highlighting their individual talents and collective strength.
