Bears Soar Past Eagles, 28–10, on Senior Night; Secure Share of Sunbelt League Title
It was a night to remember under the Friday night lights as the Riverside Poly Bears capped off Senior Night with a dominant 28–10 victory over the visiting Valley View Eagles. The win not only celebrated the team’s seniors in style but also secured at least a share of the Sunbelt League Championship — the program’s first league title since 2014, and only its second since 1985.
The Bears set the tone early, combining a balanced offensive attack with a relentless defense that kept the Eagles in check throughout the game. Key plays on both sides of the ball electrified the home crowd, as the team built momentum that carried through all four quarters.
Adding to the excitement, both the Freshmen and Junior Varsity squads also earned victories over the Eagles earlier in the week, completing a program-wide sweep that showcased the depth and promise of the Bears’ football program.
With this win, the Bears improve their league record (6-3, 4-0) and now turn their attention to next week’s highly anticipated matchup against the Arlington Lions. A victory on the road would give the Bears the outright Sunbelt League Championship — a historic milestone for a team that has shown determination, unity, and heart all season long.
Kickoff against the Lions is set for next Friday, 7 pm, at the Arlington High School Stadium, where the Bears will look to make history once again.
Come out and support! Go Bears!
